Security Responsibilities
The University is committed to protecting its information assets and technological resources. All University members are responsible for the protection of their passwords, card access keys, and/or other access controls, and should exercise responsibility when conducting business. It is the goal of the Office of Information Technology to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of information while providing reliable access.
How to be Secure Aware
- Protect your University credentials.
- Do not use e-mail to send confidential or sensitive information such as passwords, social security numbers, or credit card numbers.
- Do not open e-mail attachments from unknown sources.
- Do not store sensitive information on portable devices.
- Protect your computing or mobile device during study trips.
- Do not discuss sensitive information in public places.
- Ensure sensitive information on the computer screen is not visible to others.
- Secure your computer whenever you are away from it.
- Always log off of applications.
