M.Ed. Education in a Multicultural Society

Through this course, you will engage with the multifaceted and intersecting nature of culture, identity and context in the field of education, in both theory and practice. You will focus specifically on education in the post-colonial Caribbean context, as you grapple with the identity construction, intersectionality and structural inequities. Through the lens of critical multiculturalism, you will consider non-essentialist understandings of culture and identity in relation to both past and future educational experiences, for yourself and for your students.
