Dr. Peter Augustine is an Instructor at the Junior Surgery and Anesthesia Laboratory in the Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery of St George’s University. He graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of the West Indies in 2021 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, he worked as a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant, where he gained experience performing and analyzing radiographs. Additionally, he assisted with performing endoscopies and ultrasounds on various animals. In 2022, he became the Clinical Teaching Assistant in the Small Animal Medicine Department at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital under the U.W.I S.V.M. As that role, he practiced as a general small animal veterinarian and aided with student learning. His duties included attending to walk-in and hospitalized patients, performing anesthesia, reading and interpreting radiographs and performing minor surgeries. Moreover, he assisted with the tutoring and mentorship of students at various levels of the D.V.M program, primarily those undertaking their clinical rotations and practical skills proficiencies. He has research interests in Small Animal Radiology, Internal Medicine and Surgery.
