Keith Kalasi, DVM, MSc.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Kalasi, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the School of Veterinary Medicine, holds a strong interest in small animal medicine and surgery, with a particular focus on soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, and dentistry. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Kalasi actively engages in teaching both didactic and clinical courses, contributing to the development of clinical skills, professionalism, and communication among students. He serves as a faculty advisor for several student groups and leads multiple wet labs, including advanced surgical skills sessions for the Surgery Club. Since 2014, Dr. Kalasi has been an academic consultant for the Med/Vet Summer Academy Leadership program, providing college and high school students from North America and globally with insights into St. George’s University Veterinary program.

Committed to community outreach, Dr. Kalasi actively participates in initiatives such as the One Health One Medicine clinics, which aim to vaccinate dogs and enhance their overall well-being. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. George’s University in 2010, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2013, and a Master of Science degree in 2023.
Dr. Kalasi is actively involved in several research projects investigating zoonotic diseases in Grenada. One of his research focuses is Leptospira in canine and feline animals within the Grenadian population, with the goal of raising awareness of this emerging zoonotic disease.
