Dr. India Paharsingh has a varied background in both academia and private practice. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of the West Indies in 2014 and completed a Master of Science (MSc.) in Clinical Pathology at St. George’s University (SGU) in 2020. She worked as a Clinician/Teaching Assistant for the University of The West Indies in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, then as a SGU Small Animal Clinician for 6 years. Dr. Paharsingh went on to managing the first feline clinic in the English-speaking Caribbean, showcasing her leadership and dedication to feline medicine before re-joining SGU as a member of the Clinical Pathology faculty in 2023.

Dr. Paharsingh previously served as the University Veterinarian for SGU and was honored with the Outstanding Clinician Award during her time at the Small Animal Clinic. Her research interests focus on establishing reference intervals and infectious diseases.

Dr. Paharsingh shares her home with a very spoilt dog, two mischievous cats, and Piglet her fish.
