Gwen Burbank is associate dean of strategic initiatives and administration and assistant professor in the Department of Business and Management Studies. She brings to SGU more than 25 years of domestic and international experience in academic teaching, instructional design, education consulting and building education infrastructure.
As associate dean, Ms. Burbank works closely with the School of Arts and Sciences leadership team to facilitate preparedness for accreditation and develops and implements short/long-range goals and objectives for various related projects, policies and procedures.
In her role as assistant professor, she teaches Leadership and Management for Healthcare, and for International Business, as well as Critical Thinking and Ethics in the MBA program. She also teaches Leadership and Organizational Behavior at the undergraduate level.
Ms. Burbank received a BA in Consumer Economics from Cornell University followed by her MTS in Biblical Studies at Palmer Theological Seminary in Wynnewood, PA. She then earned her MA in Educational Instructional Systems/Training Design and Development at Pennsylvania State University prior to achieving an MBA in Multi-sector Health Management at St. George’s University.
Ms. Burbank is also a yoga instructor and enjoys running, hiking, scuba diving and sailing.
