Ava Mc Intyre had ten years of work experience in diagnostic laboratories in Grenada prior to joining SGU. Within the Pathobiology department, Ava’s specific focus is on the operation of Histopathology for diagnostics, and Necropsy for teaching.

Additionally, Ava has contributed to the clinical pathology laboratory within the same department, where she has been involved in both diagnostic work and teaching. Ava has a strong commitment to research and has assisted the World Bank Group (WBG) as a Research Scientist. Her work with the WBG centered on data collection and analysis activities, particularly in the area of non-communicable diseases in Grenada, with a specific focus on Hypertension and Diabetes within the care cascade. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Biology) and a Master of Public Health (Epidemiology) from St. George’s University.
