DOCTOR OF VETERINARY MEDICINE/MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH (DVM/MPH)

Prepare for a career in public health with the strength of SGU’s world-renowned Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program combined with our Master of Public Health (MPH) program.
In the DVM/MPH dual-degree program, veterinary medicine students can earn the DVM degree and the MPH degree in tandem. Gain a unique understanding of the interchange between animal health and the human population.
In addition to your veterinary medicine coursework, the public health degree gives you the fundamentals of veterinary epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy and management, social and behavioral sciences, and environmental health.
Requirements
North American applicants
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college, with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Work experience or a strong interest in public health
- Two letters of recommendation
British applicants:
- A first- or second-class degree
- Work experience or a strong interest in public health
- Two letters of recommendation
All other models of education:
- A bachelor’s degree, BSc or equivalent with a strong science background
- Work experience or a strong interest in public health
- Two letters of recommendation
- If English is not the applicant’s principal language, the official record of a score of at least 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based) or 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a 7.0 overall score in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
