PSYC 809 Assessment and Evaluation of Psychological Interventions with Communities
This course is designed to familiarize students with methods of community health assessment that form the foundation of community-based interventions to promote health and prevent disease and to provide them with the skills to conduct process and outcome evaluations of these types of community psychological interventions. This experience is planned as an orientation to naturalistic inquiry, or qualitative, methods, and to the ways in which they can be combined with quantitative methods to measure and improve effectiveness in community psychology. Additionally, students will be instructed in the utilization of a planning model as a means of systematically engaging community members in assessment and implementation.
