Sherry Singh, MD ’00, serves as an Associate Dean of US Clinical Studies, and is also a member of the Council of Deans and the Curriculum Committee. In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Singh has developed, directs, and continue expand the On–Site Clinical Student Support Program, which is designed to provide students with access to a primary clinical advisor during their clinical rotations.
Previously, Dr. Singh had been a Senior Advisor in the University’s Office of Career Guidance and Student Development for eight years. She first became involved with teaching and mentoring SGU students as a Hospitalist at Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. During her time there, she served on the Residency Review Committee, Medical Executive Committee, and helped to further develop the Academic Hospitalist Program.
In addition to her academic roles at SGU, Dr. Singh has serves as a part–time Internist at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, where she is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine for Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
A 2000 SGU graduate, Dr. Singh came to Grenada after earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. After earning her Doctor of Medicine, she completed her internship year at Cooper University Hospital before finishing her internal medicine residency at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. She went on to practice internal medicine for UMass Memorial Medical Group and Long Island College Hospital before assuming her current position at Cooper University Hospital as well as St. George’s University School of Medicine.
