Urfeya Mirza, BVSc, MVSc, PhD

Dr. Urfeya Mirza is an Instructor (level 5) within the Large Animal Medicine and Surgery Department in the School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a large animal surgeon with a special interest in bovine and small ruminant surgery, anesthesiology and diagnostic imaging. Her research focuses on ultrasound guided and peripheral nerve stimulator guided nerve blocks in large animals and evaluation of wound healing potentials of different herb extracts in lab animals.

Before joining SGU, Dr. Mirza held an assistant professor position at Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, India. Dr. Mirza earned her BVSc from the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu, India in 2015 and MVSc and PhD degrees from the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir, India in 2017 and 2021 respectively. Dr. Mirza has also qualified the national eligibility test conducted by Indian council of agricultural research in the subject of veterinary surgery and radiology in 2019.
