Dr. Urfeya Mirza is an Instructor (Level 5) in the Large Animal Medicine and Surgery Department at the School of Veterinary Medicine. As an animal surgeon, she specializes in soft tissue surgery, anesthesiology, and diagnostic imaging. Her research delves into ultrasound-guided and peripheral nerve-stimulator-guided nerve blocks in animals, as well as the wound healing potentials of various therapeutic extracts in laboratory animals.
Prior to joining SGU, Dr. Mirza served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology in India. She holds BVSc, MVSc, and PhD degrees from India and is an active member of the Indian Society of Veterinary Surgery and the Indian Society for the Advancement in Canine Practice. Additionally, she has successfully qualified the National Eligibility Test conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in Veterinary Surgery and Radiology.
