Dr. Bhola-Paul has a Ph.D., in management with a focus on leadership and organization change with Walden University (2022). A Master of Philosophy in Management with Walden University (2020) and a Master of Sciences degree in Hospitality Management with Florida International University (2008), a Bachelor of Sciences degree with honors in Hospitality Management with University of the West Indies (2006), a diploma with honors in Food and Beverage Management with George Brown College- Canada (1997) and a Wines and Spirits certification with the Wines and Spirits Education Trust (1997).
Dr. Bhola-Paul is the deputy chair of the Business and Management Studies department, an Associate Professor of Tourism and Management and an advisor to the Business Students Association of St. George’s University. She was responsible for the development of the Tourism and Hospitality undergraduate degree program (2018) and developed many courses including Accommodation Management, Food and Beverage Service Management and Culinary Management. She is the Chair of the School of Arts and Sciences Awards Committee and was responsible for the development of the proposal and its implementation (2022). She lectures in Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, Accommodation Management, Events Management, Food and Beverage Service Management and Culinary Management.
Dr. Bhola-Paul’s previous relationship with the Grenada Tourism and Hospitality Industry was as a manager of the five diamond Spice Island Beach Resort where she trained and influenced the service standards of the Food and Beverage department. She has trained many people in the areas of hospitality standards, management, dining etiquette, wines and spirits, mixology, and customer services at a governmental and private organization level.
Dr. Bhola-Paul has publications on organization open innovation in small and medium enterprises, sustainable tourism, and heritage tourism with peer reviewed journals. She has presented at various international tourism conferences. Her Ph.D. dissertation was on Leadership Experiences of Organization Open Innovation in Caribbean Small and Medium Enterprises.
Dr. Bhola-Paul’s research interests are primarily sustainable tourism, open innovation in developing economies and business sustainability, leadership in Small and Medium Enterprises and heritage tourism. In particular, she is interested in open innovation and sustainability of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in developing economies.
Dr. Bhola-Paul is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. She serves as a peer reviewer for the Asian Journal of Economics, Business and Accounting and the South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics She was involved in establishing the national vocational standards for Grenada’s Hospitality Industry as a lead member of the Grenada National Training Agency. A mentor for the Caribbean Hotel Foundation Scholarship program for the Tourism and Hospitality Industry and a member of the Academy of Management.
