St. George’s University students’ USMLE Step 1 pass rate continues to rise. In 2013, SGU students taking the examination for the first time in 2013 achieved a 98 percent pass rate, a mark achieved by students from 37 countries.

WINDREF Receives Funding from The Nature Conservancy Aimed at Increasing and Strengthening Marine Managed Areas While Improving Livelihoods of Fishers and Coastal Communities 3/20/14

With the goal to protect and improve near-shore and coastal habitats in Grenada, The Nature Conservancy has enlisted the Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF) with the task, granting the research institute, housed on the True Blue campus of St. George’s University, $24,000 US this year with the possibility of additional years of funding, to implement a project aimed at establishing a climate resilient “Eastern Caribbean Marine Managed Areas Network (ECMMAN).”

Dr. Cheryl Cox-Macpherson to Head Five-Year Campaign to Teach Research Ethics in Caribbean 5/22/14


Dr. Cheryl Cox-Macpherson, Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation Senior Research Fellow, and Chair, SGU Bioethics Department, together with colleagues Dr. Sean Philpott of Union Graduate College in the United States and Dr. Robert Hall of Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro in Mexico, have been awarded a $1.1 million USD grant from the Fogarty International Center, National Institutes of Health, to increase research ethics capacity in Latin America and the Caribbean.

SGU Establishes Two-Week Selective at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences in India 7/18/14
