Research and Dual-Degree Opportunities
SGU’s location and variety of dual-degree programs provide unique research opportunities in areas such as medical public health, anthropology, ecology, marine and terrestrial biology, and ethics. The Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF) research institute is on campus. The Medical Student Research Institute (MSRI) was launched in 2009 to aid MD clinical student research.
Students enrolled in St. George's innovative MBA program can graduate with a dual MD/MBA, learning how to better manage the complexities of modern healthcare delivery and community wellness. An MD or DVM degree from St. George's that combines an MBA in multi-sector health management can help graduates stand out while discovering innovative ways to manage medical practices and hospitals with the unique perspective that only a physician can bring to understanding patients and their needs. A dual MD/MPH degree is also available through the University's Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine's CEPH-accredited Master of Public Health program.
