Affiliated Hospitals and Clinical Centers
Gain clinical experience with our international partners.
St. George’s University School of Medicine isn’t just a top Caribbean medical university: we have developed long-standing relationships with many hospital and clinical center partners in the US, UK, and Canada. These trusted connections allow our students to gain a breadth of knowledge with different patient populations in a variety of environments and gain valuable international experience. A student who makes full use of all of the clinical opportunities at SGU will graduate having experienced medicine as it is practiced and taught in the United States, Canada, Grenada and the United Kingdom.
In 1999, St. George’s medical school inaugurated a system of clinical centers to add to its already impressive list of affiliated hospitals. A clinical center is defined as a hospital, or group of hospitals, able to provide at least four or five core rotations and train 80 to 100 students at all times while providing sub-internships, primary care rotations and electives.
SGU has a Director of Medical Education, Program Directors, faculty, and support staff at each clinical-site affiliate to oversee our university-led clinical program. This ensures that our students’ clinical training is cohesive and consistent.
